In 2017 Joe Gyurcsak won Grand Prize at Plein Air Easton and Grand Prize at Heart of the River Plein Air Festival.

In 2016 Mr. Gyurcsak swept the 6th Annual Plein Air Salon competition with three awards including Second Place Overall, Best Acrylic and Best Nocturne; he won the awards for Outstanding Acrylic Painting and Outstanding Watercolor in Bold Brush Fine Art Studio Online (FASO); he was an award winner in the International Society of Acrylic Painters Online; and earned Honorable Mention at the Bucks County Plein Air Festival.  

Publications
Mr. Gyurcsak is the subject of Southwest Art Magazine’s forthcoming article “Artists to Watch 2018” and appeared in the Los Angeles Times “Painters Capture Essence of Laguna Beach during Plein Air Contest"; and in “Artist Spotlight” online in Fine Art Views Newsletter. His recent interview by Antrese Wood in the SavvyPainter.com Podcast is titled “The Impact of an Art Mentor”. Joe Gyurcsak was interviewed online by John Pototschnik in “Acrylic Paints & Their Spontaneous Look” for Plein Air Magazine; and he is included in Gary Pendleton’s book 100 Plein Air Painters of the Mid-Atlantic.

Joe Gyurcsak is professionally affiliated as a Signature Member of both American Impressionist Society and International Society of Acrylic Painters. He is a member of the  Salmagundi Club; California Art Club; Oil Painters of America;  Garden State Watercolor Society; and Laguna Beach LPAPA.
